PSM Manager/Engineer needed to join a busy, growing industrial ammonia refrigeration company. This person should be comfortable around all types of industrial refrigeration equipment, especially ammonia-based systems. Ideal candidate will be familiar with Mechanical Integrity, Process Hazard Analysis, What-Ifs, Hazop Analysis, and Compliance audits. PSM Managers also review and assist with Management of Change (MOCs) and Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSRs). Hands on experience required!

In the event our customers are audited by OSHA or the EPA, PSM Manager may be required to participate in the audit and provide assistance for any PSM/RMP audit activity.

What you can expect in this role:

  • Ensure facility compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP), California CalARP, and Nevada CAPP
  • This position will carry the opportunity to move into a managerial role within PSM/RMP based on performance and work ethic
  • Regular overnight travel; this position will travel 50%-80% of the time (varies based on your location)
  • Provide PSM mandated ammonia refrigeration technical, Mechanical Integrity, and Standard Operating Procedure training
  • Provide leadership for Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred
  • PE license preferred
  • 3-5 years' experience in ammonia refrigeration
  • 3-5+ years' experience in a PSM regulated facility
  • Knowledge of and the ability to perform Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Compliance Audits, Mechanical Integrity Inspections, Non-Destructive Testing, and PSM Training
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA, EPA, CalARP, CAPP
  • Familiar with IIAR & ASHRAE Standards
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Solid problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Refrigeration Engineers Technician Association (RETA) certification or the ability to obtain CIRO, CRES, and RETA Authorized Instructor certification
  • Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds, climb ladders, walk on roofs, and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and technical specifications
